Integrated product support

By embedding supportability into system design from the start, Integrated Product Support, IPS, helps ensure operational availability, mission readiness and through-life performance before issues occur in service.

Aleido combines IPS expertise with technical development capabilities in technical data, data-driven product support, training, provisioning and spare parts information, and emerging technologies. By applying cross-industry best practices from rail, automotive, energy, telecom and industrial sectors, we help customers create smarter, scalable and future-ready life cycle support solutions.

What?

Integrated Product Support, IPS, has evolved from Integrated Logistics Support, ILS, into a broader life cycle product support approach for complex systems. It integrates key IPS elements such as maintenance planning, supply support, technical data, training and training support, support equipment, facilities, packaging, handling, storage and transportation, configuration management, and in-service feedback early in the design and development process.

By applying supportability engineering, Logistics Support Analysis, maintenance task analysis, Level of Repair Analysis, Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety and Life Cycle Cost, IPS helps identify support risks early and ensures that products are designed for efficient operation, maintenance and sustainment.

IPS is well established in defence but its value extends to any industry where complex products must remain operational, safe and cost-effective over time.

Why?

In mission-critical environments, system availability is essential. Many factors that influence reliability, maintainability and through-life cost are defined during the design and development phase.

By integrating IPS early, organisations can reduce unplanned maintenance, optimise preventive maintenance, improve mean time between failure, reduce mean time to repair and increase operational availability. IPS also creates a clearer connection between engineering, product support, technical information, training and field experience.

Aleido enhances this further by combining IPS methodology with structured data, modular information, digital platforms, automated workflows, interactive learning, digital spare parts catalogues and feedback from in-service operations. This enables a stronger digital thread between engineering, maintenance and training.

How?

Aleido helps organisations turn IPS strategy into practical product support capability throughout the full lifecycle: from concept, design and development to deployment, operation, upgrade, life extension and phase-out.

Our work includes IPS management, supportability analysis, maintenance concept development, maintenance task analysis, LSA, LORA, LCC considerations, provisioning data, spare parts information, technical publications, training needs analysis, digital learning, support equipment information, configuration control and in-service feedback processes.

We support established IPS standards and specifications, including S1000D for technical publications and broader S-Series IPS specifications where relevant, such as S3000L for LSA. This helps ensure consistency, interoperability, traceability and efficient reuse of information across systems, platforms, partners and lifecycle phases.

What sets Aleido apart is our ability to connect IPS strategy with execution. From technical data, spare parts structures and maintenance information to AI-supported information flows, we help customers create support solutions that are robust today and ready for tomorrow.

Integrated Product Support includes

We help you drive projects, including planning the different roles in your project team and the development of the support system within the project.

We determine users’ training requirements and the best way to meet them.

We develop system descriptions, operating information, diagnostic data/information and software information.

We help you identify when parts/sub-systems fail and how to handle those situations.

We integrate and apply key performance indicators (quantitative and qualitative) to ensure IPS requirements are considered throughout the lifecycle.

We help you break down system and sub-systems into codified part lists.
