Look and feel

The training need

Axelos required high-quality and interactive courseware and resources to be used by their channel partners for delivering either classroom-based, face-to-face training workshops or online sessions.

The ITIL4 Foundation, PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner courseware includes a total of 56 hours of training marketed as AXELOS Best Practice Courseware providing pre-accredited material for use by accredited training organisations (ATOs).

Specific requirements of the e-learning included:

  • PowerPoint decks for use with course participants during each face-to-face and online training session.
  • Comprehensive trainer notes for each session.
  • A participant pack with activity sheets for participants’ use throughout the course.

Our bespoke learning solution

The PRINCE2® and ITIL® courses are designed in accordance with the Axelos brand and complements existing textbook publications for ITIL and PRINCE2. ATOs can add their logo to the launch menu to personalise delivery.

Each PowerPoint deck is designed to ensure that delivery is consistent, regardless of whether the training setting is virtual or in-person.

The decks are accessible via a ‘course launcher’ which creates a menu for the trainer to quickly access different sessions from one place, or revise the order of delivery if preferred. The session decks also include optional extension activities, to give trainers the option to tailor the course focus depending on the needs of their participants. In the case of the PRINCE2 Practitioner course, which takes a ‘workshop’ approach (rather than a formal ‘linear’ course structure) the PowerPoint decks were further engineered to ensure flexibility to explore different topics to align with the needs of each unique participant group.

Scenarios are a frequent feature of the PowerPoint decks, and help to place the information in a relevant context, encouraging participants to apply their knowledge during the sessions and create further discussion.

The use of graphics, diagrams and other visual aids, alongside the use of animated transitions, ensure that key points are presented in an interesting and engaging way.

Each course includes a trainer notes PDF for use by the trainer with the PowerPoint decks. This document details everything the trainer will need to deliver the course successfully. It contains a session-by-session, slide-by-slide, guide to the course delivery, including key information on the subject matter, suggested course timetables/schedules, activity ideas to run with the participant group, and tips for optimising the session for online and face-to-face settings.

The participant pack for each course features useful overviews of the course structure and what will be covered, as well as the resources to complete all recommended activities within the sessions.

Overall, the courseware is a meticulous and comprehensive suite of training materials which, used together, permits the trainer to deliver the course in their chosen format, with sufficient flexibility to adapt to different learning styles and needs, whilst simultaneously ensuring that the fundamental content is covered effectively. Participants are presented with a dynamic and enjoyable learning experience, which supports the successful completion of their chosen professional qualification.
