How Aleido helps organisations turn sustainability goals into everyday capability

Here at Aleido, we’re using our decades of experience in digital learning and aftermarket information solutions to help clients to deliver on their sustainability goals.

Sustainability targets only become real when people can act on them - in design choices, operational decisions, maintenance routines, supplier behaviours, and day-to-day customer interactions. That’s why sustainability training works best when it is practical, role-specific, and delivered at the moment of need, not as a one-off awareness course.

Aleido supports sustainability agendas by combining digital learning (to build behaviours and competence) with aftermarket and product information solutions (to make complex technology easier to use, maintain, optimise and extend). In practice, that means you can:

  • Operationalise ESG strategy into clear behaviours for specific roles (engineers, technicians, operators, service teams, sales, leadership).

  • Reduce waste with up-to-date digital information instead of printed manuals, and with modular content that’s easier to maintain and reuse.

  • Improve safety and compliance while accelerating adoption of new processes, tools, and low-carbon technologies.

  • Measure and evidence impact with learning journeys, assessments, and reporting through modern delivery platforms and LMS solutions (including tailored rollouts where needed).

Below are examples of how this plays out across several key industries.

Advanced machinery and equipment

Sustainability priorities: energy efficiency, reduced downtime and scrap, longer asset life, safer maintenance, circularity (repair/refurbish), and lower operational emissions.

Aleido helps machinery manufacturers and operators translate sustainability requirements into how work gets done: better maintenance practices, correct use of equipment, and consistent procedures across regions and service partners.

Digital training and structured product knowledge also support faster rollouts of efficiency upgrades and safer, lower-waste processes.

Project examples

Aleido partnered with Sandvik to digitalise training and product information, improving the learning curve and the efficiency of machine maintenance - the kind of capability shift that supports reliability, reduced waste, and longer equipment life.

Aleido has also supported the digitalisation of comprehensive manuals to cut printing, warehousing and distribution, explicitly reducing environmental strain while keeping information searchable and current for users.

Automotive and commercial vehicles

Sustainability priorities: electrification readiness, battery safety and service competence, reduced warranty waste, right-first-time repairs, lower idle time, and improved vehicle uptime.

Aleido supports sustainability in automotive by ensuring technicians, service networks and end users have accurate, usable knowledge - especially important as EV platforms, software-defined features, and new maintenance procedures evolve quickly.

Project examples

Aleido developed product information for Innovation Automotive’s electric vehicles, including diagnostic information and owners’ manuals - helping service technicians work efficiently and effectively, and improving the ownership experience (critical for EV adoption and long-term performance).

Aleido also launched a web portal with an automotive industry leader to deepen aftersales personnel’s understanding of how vehicles work, replacing traditional printed material and supporting continuous updates as models evolve.

Aleido’s automotive aftermarket information and e-learning clients have included the likes of Polestar, Lynk & Co, London Electric Vehicle Company, RAC and Volvo.

Information and communication technology

Sustainability priorities: energy-efficient operations, responsible infrastructure choices, greener software practices, and sustained uptime (reducing waste, disruption, and rework).

In ICT, sustainability often depends on whether people can optimise, upgrade, and manage complex software and systems correctly. Aleido’s approach focuses on scalable product knowledge and learning that can update rapidly and reach different user groups.

Project example

Our solutions are designed to help users understand how software should be optimised, upgraded and managed, supporting uptime and customer satisfaction - important levers for efficient operations at scale.

Our Liberty Global - Net Zero project was integral to their decarbonisation and the Net Zero journey communications. It showed how learning can support sustainability strategy communication and workforce alignment.

Medical technology / MedTech

Sustainability priorities: safe and compliant product use, reduced errors and wastage, consistent best practice across markets, and efficient upskilling for clinicians and partners.

MedTech sustainability is tightly linked to patient outcomes, safe device usage, and reduced rework - and often requires building knowledge across distributed global networks. Aleido supports this with blended learning ecosystems and communities that make expert knowledge easier to access and apply.

Project example

Aleido supported BioGaia in creating the BioGaia Academyenabling medical experts to share knowledge globally through interactive video lectures, eLearning modules, assignments, assessments, forums and webinars - a scalable model for building competence and consistency.

Rail and transport solutions

Sustainability priorities: reliable service, reduced failures and delays, asset life extension, efficient maintenance, and safe adoption of new digital train systems.

Rail sustainability is strongly linked to availability, operational efficiency, and maintenance quality. Aleido supports rail organisations with learning and product information that helps teams maintain assets effectively and adopt new systems smoothly.

Project examples

Aleido developed a microlearning mobile app for Alstom to support deployment of a new train control system, focusing on operators, technicians and other target groups to enable a smoother transition.

Aleido works with Talgo to support digital maintenance documentation for high-speed trains, aiming for more efficient maintenance and increased train availability, quality and safety.

In the UK, Aleido has also worked with Stagecoach on training to support servicing of Sheffield’s Citylink trams, improving maintenance effectiveness and availability for passengers.

Energy Sector

Sustainability priorities: transition skills (renewables, smart systems), safety and compliance, operational excellence, and customer engagement around consumption and supply.

Energy organisations need training that keeps pace with transformation - not only for technical change, but also for customer-facing roles and cross-functional collaboration. Aleido supports this with bespoke eLearning that can reach widely distributed workforces and make complex systems more learnable.

Project example:

FutureOn - Collaborate e-Learning, aimed at building user confidence in effectively using the Collaborate software - a practical example of enabling adoption of tools that support modern energy operations and collaboration.

What good sustainability training looks like in practice (and how Aleido supports it)

Across sectors, the strongest programmes tend to share a few characteristics:

  1. Role-based learning journeys (not generic awareness)

  2. Scenario-led practice that reflects real trade-offs and constraints

  3. Performance support (the right info at the right time) to prevent mistakes and rework

  4. Rapid updating as regulations, technology and processes change

  5. Evidence and reporting to show uptake and behavioural change

Aleido’s blend of digital learning services and aftermarket information solutions is designed to make this achievable at scale - especially in complex, regulated, and technology-heavy environments.
