Baton of Hope – Suicide Awareness and Prevention

Digitally transforming content to reach a growing and diverse audience.

Look and feel

THE TRAINING NEED

Gravitas Medical Solutions support Baton of Hope, the UK’s biggest suicide prevention initiative, in working towards a zero-suicide society. This includes the delivery of face-to-face suicide and awareness training workshops. With the demand for training outstripping the capacity to deliver, Gravitas selected Aleido to convert the workshop into an interactive, self-paced learning format that would reach and engage a diverse audience of learners.

They also wanted the learning to sit on our Svelte LMS platform.

Specific requirements of the e-learning included:

  • A 40-minute course, made up of two modules: Suicide Awareness and Suicide Prevention.
  • A clear structure and flow, with information broken into digestible ‘chunks’ to enable learners to absorb, reflect on and understand important learning points.
  • The addition of scenarios to make the content relatable and practical.
  • Swift development and roll-out to meet the ever-increasing demand for an online version of the training.

OUR BESPOKE LEARNING SOLUTION

Our design and development teams worked closely and quickly with Gravitas to fully understand the content and create an innovative solution within the tight timelines. During this process:

  • We adjusted our usual ADDIE process to be more Agile and meet the very tight deadline, while still ensuring standards of quality were met.
  • We developed scenarios to support the existing content and provide learners with realistic and relatable stories that would enable reflection on their own responses while practically illustrating recommended ways to respond with compassion.
  • As well as interactive screens, we included a number of formative activities to encourage learners to stop, think and engage with the content.
  • We ensured that the visual approach was appropriate and sensitive to the content, using a combination of photographic images and illustrations, together with iconography.
  • Branding was aligned with the Baton of Hope, bringing in their resources to ensure consistent messaging and recognition.
