A bespoke ‘toolkit’ to explain complex topics regarding the commissioning cycle.

THE TRAINING NEED

Historically, commissioners in alcohol and drug services were often sourced from the Probation Service. This is now less common, with more and more commissioners being recruited from generic public health teams, meaning that there is a reduced understanding of alcohol and drug treatment.

With all 135 local authorities having two or more commissioners, Generis recognised the need for a new training course to provide commissioners with an overview of the various stages of the commissioning cycle.

Specific requirements of the e-learning included:

A 75-minute e-learning course, including engaging animations.
A responsive solution which provides learners opportunities to assess their own understanding.

OUR BESPOKE LEARNING SOLUTION

Our solution comprises a 75-minute e-learning module with four units and adopts a “toolkit” approach. Complex topics are explained using short, simple but engaging animations, that make for more impactful learning and knowledge retention.

A fictional case study provides learners with a step-by-step example of how the commissioning cycle applies to drug and alcohol treatment and to reinforce understanding, knowledge checks are included throughout the training, providing learners with opportunities to assess their own understanding of the content.
