Reflections on UX trends for 2025

Our user experience (UX) specialist Fredrik Håkansson shares his thoughts on how UX trends will influence aftermarket information in 2025.

Technical information in other forms than text

If I were to summarise what I’ve read about UX trends for 2025, much of it is an extension of last year’s trends. We’re seeing a growing emphasis on

  • designing for rich media (animated content and interfaces, video, 3D)
  • voice user interfaces
  • dark mode

These trends will influence how we author, architect, and design aftermarket information.

Making information accessible

One aspect that stands out for us at Aleido is Accessibility: The EU Accessibility Directive (EEA) will take effect in June this year, bringing accessibility into sharper focus. We will continue to help our customers see accessibility as inclusive design - not only as a legal requirement but also as an opportunity to add value to their businesses.

Keeping the user in mind

Some UX trends come with potential pitfalls, and we will be very careful not to fall into them:

  • The trend of trading empathy for algorithm.
Our role to advocate for the user remains. We want to excel in user-centred design and ensure that empathy remains at the heart of everything we do.
  • The trend of premature releases and anxiously promising AI-castles in the air
We will remain confident and relentless in delivering with a user-centric focus, especially in everything we do around AI. Technology is fantastic, the user’s experience is paramount.

Fredrik Håkansson is a user experience (UX) architect and specialist at Aleido. With the user in focus, interfaces feel more intuitive and advanced information can be simply understood.
