Sandvik is undergoing an exciting digital transformation to enhance training for its service technicians. By shifting from traditional methods to digital solutions, Sandvik is making significant strides toward a safer, more sustainable, and cost-efficient future.

Need for digitalisation

Sandvik, a global leader in equipment and tools for infrastructure and mining, faces the challenge of future-proofing training and aftermarket information for its complex machines. The traditional methods of instructor-led training and printed manuals are no longer sustainable, especially for a company of Sandvik’s scale.

To address these challenges, Sandvik sought a partner to support its digitalisation journey. The choice fell on Aleido, thanks to our expertise in digital learning and aftermarket information.

Training and effective handling

Together, we are building a global learning organisation for Sandvik’s service technicians. Digital training gives technicians the skills to service machines safely and efficiently. It also enhances flexibility, making it easier for both staff and customers to access the right training resources while improving the user experience.

In parallel, we are working to digitalise operator manuals, maintenance information and spare parts catalogues, providing technicians with constant access to up-to-date data. This solution streamlines workflows, reduces reliance on expert support, and cuts costs through smart tagging and content reuse.

Positive effects of digitalisation efforts

Although there is still much to be done, Sandvik is already seeing positive results, with service technicians providing strong feedback. The new digital training materials have improved both the learning curve and the efficiency of machine maintenance.
