I started at Xtractor in 2018, which later became part of Aleido, by exploring the intersection of art direction and learning design. Rooted in learning, I’ve taken on roles as an Art Director, Project Manager, and now, Team Leader. At Aleido, I've embraced a collaborative approach, focusing on innovative projects and new opportunities.

Leading with creativity and purpose

As an Art Director and Team Leader, I combine creative vision with pedagogical insight, technical skills, and business acumen. My role is to guide our team in bringing ideas to life, ensuring they meet client needs and maintain the highest quality standards. Directing the creative department means more than just managing; it’s about inspiring, solving problems, and fostering a shared vision within the team.

"In visual communication, especially in learning, simplicity and engagement are key. Clear, consistent, and user-centered visuals capture attention, enhance understanding, and make learning more impactful."

Inspiration, success, and breaking misconceptions

Driven by a growth mindset and a passion for new ideas, I find inspiration in those striving to reach their full potential, as well as in the beauty of nature and diverse art forms. In visual communication, especially in learning, simplicity and engagement are key. Clear, consistent, and user-centered visuals capture attention, enhance understanding, and make learning more impactful.

However, there are common misconceptions about visual communication. Many view visuals as mere decoration, but they are powerful tools for conveying complex information. When designed with skill and creativity, visuals not only clarify concepts but also evoke emotions that reinforce learning. Another misconception is that visual communication is limited to certain subjects or audiences. In reality, visuals transcend these boundaries, enhancing understanding and credibility across a wide range of topics. The flexibility of visual communication surpasses that of verbal methods, making it a vital tool in any educational or creative pursuit.

The future of learning

I believe AI has the potential to revolutionalise learning by enabling personalised experiences and promoting active learning through gamification and simulations. Microlearning will continue to grow, and collaborative platforms will enhance communal learning. Generative AI will bring more flexibility and creativity to design, complementing human expertise. The future of learning is an exciting blend of human ingenuity and technological innovation.
